The NAVFAC logo colors are rooted in naval history – the dark blue signifies the traditional Navy, while the gold represents both the navy and the Marine Corps gold. The light blue, by contrast, represents a more modern, contemporary perspective. The sweeping arch through the NAVFAC lettering, has two representations – the curved edge of a globe, showing NAVFAC as a global organization, and an ocean wave indicating our service to the Navy. The golden crosshairs in the foreground represent a simple design tool that is both traditional and modern. The sweeping line of the background are reminiscent of a ship’s hull. It also represents a breaking wake behind a ship and the design work NAVFAC provides to its customers. Finally, the dark blue square speaks to the oceans our Navy patrols and defends, and represents the foundation of a facility, a strong square cornerstone.
