Capt. Michael McCain

Capt. Michael McCain is a native of Fairfield, California and a 2000 graduate of California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly), San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering.  He holds a Master of Science degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Stanford University.  He earned his commission from Officer Candidate School Pensacola, Florida in 2000.
 
Capt. McCain’s operational assignments include communications officer, information systems officer, and officer-in-charge Detail Atsugi, Japan, U.S. Naval Mobile Construction Battalion ONE; Training and Readiness Officer and officer-in-charge Detail Guam, U.S. Naval Mobile Construction Battalion ONE THREE THREE; and Commanding Officer, U.S. Naval Mobile Construction Battalion ELEVEN.
 
His shore assignments include Seabee Readiness Division Instructor, Assistant Basic Course Director, and Command Adjutant, Naval Civil Engineer Corps Officer School, California; Assistant Public Works Officer, Naval Base San Diego, California; Facilities Engineering and Acquisition Division Director, Naval Base Point Loma, California; Deputy Force Engineer, U.S. Naval Forces Central Command and U.S. FIFTH Fleet, Bahrain; Assistant Operations Officer and Project Integrated Product Team Lead, Naval Facilities Engineering Command Hawaii; Operations Officer, Navy Expeditionary Combat Command Pacific, Hawaii; and Public Works Officer, Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, Washington.
 
Capt. McCain assumed responsibilities as the Operations Officer at Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command Southeast in June 2022.
 
Capt. McCain is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Oregon, a member of the Defense Acquisition Corps, a qualified Seabee Combat Warfare Officer, and Master Training Specialist.  His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (3 awards), Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (5 awards), Army Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3 awards), and other personal, service, unit, and campaign awards.
