Rear Adm. Jorge Cuadros is a native of Bogota, Colombia. He enlisted in the Navy in 1991 and was commissioned as a Naval Officer in 1996 through Officer Candidate School in Pensacola, FL. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Ponticicia Universidad Javeriana and a Master of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Stanford University. He is also a graduate of Harvard University’s Kennedy School Senior Executive Fellows Program.
Cuadros’ operational tours include commanding officer, Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 11; operations officer 22nd/25th Naval Construction Regiments and Naval Construction Group 2; operations officer for NMCB 7; and Air Detachment officer in charge of NMCB 7, Gulfport, Mississippi.
His shore assignments include chief of staff for Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Headquarters; commanding officer, NAVFAC Southeast and regional engineer for Navy Region Southeast; executive officer, NAVFAC Europe, Africa, Central; staff civil engineer and legislative liaison for the Department of the Navy Office of Legislative Affairs, Washington, DC; director of Facilities Engineering and Acquisition Division for Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam; Resident Officer in Charge of Construction for Naval Station Mayport, Florida; aide to Commander Naval Forces, Marianas and IndoPacific Command Representative Guam Area; and assistant site team leader at Public Works Center, San Diego, California.
As an enlisted member, he served with Construction Battalion Unit 414 in Groton, Connecticut and NMCB 7.
Cuadros is currently serving as commander, Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command, Atlantic as well as Fleet Civil Engineer and director, Fleet Installations and Environment, U.S. Fleet Forces Command.
Cuadros is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Florida, a member of the Acquisition Professional Community, and qualified as a Seabee Combat Warfare officer.
His decorations include personal, service and unit awards including the Facilities Engineering Command Best-of-Type, two Joint Meritorious Unit Awards, the Navy Unit Commendation, two Meritorious Unit Commendations, three Battle Efficiencies and a Peltier Award.
