We are a key point of delivery for Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFACENGSYSCOM) Mid-Atlantic, the Naval Shore Facilities, Base Operating Support & Expeditionary Engineering Systems Command within Navy Region Mid-Atlantic delivering technical, public works and acquisition capabilities to Naval Station Norfolk, fleet, and tenant commands to Maximize Naval Shore Readiness and Enable Warfighter Lethality. We continuously strive to remain a trusted service provider for Naval Station Norfolk, tenant commands and our customers as the foundational platform to provide and support maximum warfighting readiness to our Navy, within our available resources. We are disciplined, yet agile and responsive, and operate with purpose and urgency while executing, enforcing and upholding NAVFACENGSYSCOM standards.
What We Do – Products & Services:
Public Works Department (PWD) Norfolk provides direct support to the fleet and executes a comprehensive suite of Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command products and services in support of Naval Station Norfolk’s vast host mission and those missions of more than 300 tenant Commands and activities. PWD Norfolk is the central point of delivery for fleet shore services and support, facilities services, utilities, transportation services, facility planning, shore facilities engineering, design, construction, and contracting necessary to provide and sustain a safe and functional working and living environment for Naval Station Norfolk, supported commands and tenants. PWD Norfolk is responsible to the Naval Station Norfolk Commanding Officer to deliver services required to operate and maintain the base facilities infrastructure during normal business and inclement weather/disaster conditions. PWD Norfolk provides Navy shore support functions, products and services through a combination of in-house SYSCOM-aligned technical staff, contracted support, in-house maintenance shops, and regionalized support.
