Mission Statement:
Public Works Department Annapolis is a forward deployed field office of NAVFAC Washington that provides a full range of NAVFAC facility and environmental products and services to the U.S. Naval Academy, Naval Support Activity Annapolis, Naval Research Laboratory - Chesapeake Bay Detachment, and the Naval Medical Clinic - Annapolis.
The Public Works Department provides life-cycle management of real property (land and facilities), product and service delivery, Supported Command interface, and project execution along with environmental compliance and stewardship for the installations. Specific facility services include:
- Planning and Real Estate
- Engineering and Design
- Building Maintenance
- Construction Management
- Utility System Engineering and Maintenance
- Environmental and Compliance
- Transportation Support
- Janitorial and Grounds Maintenance
The PWD is comprised of approximately 90 civilian personnel, to include six active duty military. The department is organized into four divisions consisting of the Facilities Management Division, Facilities Engineering and Acquisition Division, Production Division, and Environmental Division. The divisions are led by the Public Works Officer (PWO) and the Deputy Public Works Officer (DPWO).
