Mission Statement:
 
The Public Works Department (PWD) provides facilities management, operational maintenance, construction and repair, base operating support services and environmental management in support of the Marines, Sailors, and Civilians stationed onboard Marine Barracks Washington.
The PWD is currently led by a Navy CEC Lieutenant and is staffed by 8 civilians and 8 Marines. Due to the unique requirements for the “Oldest Post in the Corps,” the department has a unique combined structure, as opposed to the traditional divisions at larger installations.
